Hello

I am looking for some advice please.

I have a block paved patio in the rear garden which has seen better days. Ideally I would like to replace it but can’t afford to do so just get so looking for a lower cost DIY method.

Basically it suffers a lot from weeds, dirt and thousands of ants who seem to come up through the joints and get everywhere.

So what advice would anyone on here give me, does it need regrouting, what’s best to clean it and is it worth sealing it afterwards? Basically any help or advice is greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance.

weed killer would be a good start
once they are removed
then you could use a strong bleach to remove the lichen
and finally a jet wash
then resand

Thanks for your help.

Any advice as to what to use - just a normal household bleach like Domestos or a specific paving cleaner bleach?

With the jet wash would you advise using the patio attachment or just the regular jet?

After resanding how do I keep the paving clean without the sand being dislodged? Is it worth sealing?

Thanks again!

sodium hypochlorite but you can only get this from pool supplie shops
need to wear full PPE
and it is dangerous for ponds and pets

Hi tlg
Pm me with your address and I'll send you some samples of 22 and Superior FOC. We’ve been around for 25 years so I guess by now we have a fair idea of what we are doing - but in the end it's best you be the judge
Thanks
