Hi,
I am in the process of building a garage and a new drive.
The drive is 140m2 I intended to block pave it.
Planning has been approved but the drive specification states permeable block (I thought this would get planning more easily as the drive is replacing a lawn). There are no conditions on the certificate of approval.
I have had quotes from contractors who advise against permeable blocks. They have said it won't be an issue with building control to use standard blocks as long as drainage is installed.
Should I avoid using permeable blocks ?
Also if I use permeable blocks can rain gutter down pipes simply discharge onto the driveway or will separate drainage pipework and a soak away need to be installed?
Thanks,
Jon
