has anyone used this block paving on a driveway and had and bad experiences with it being very slippery for a number of months until the temporary protective sealer they put on to protect it during transport wears off?

any replies gratefully received

I've had a few emails and calls along these lines, but this "temporary protective sealer" you mention intrigues me. Was it a standalone sealant applied post-completion or the residue from the jointing compound?

Its a factory applied sealer. Having spoken to lithofin they say it is a wax based sealant. Its put in to protect them during transport. So slippy that when laying them and its wet its difficult to hold the blocks. The driveway is like an ice rink when wet. Marshalls response is that their literature states it may be a little slippery but its temporary and will wear off in 3 to 6 months. Hardly safe or acceptable when a client has to effectivley wear off the sealer by walking over it and wait that period of time until its in a correct condition to use. It should be safe to use from day one
