Hi. First time paver here with another question. One side of my drive is fenced and I plan to run a soldier course of standard blocks along the concrete gravel boards as an edge. I will obviously have to cut some blocks to size around the fence posts as they sit proud of the gravel boards but I've noticed the gravel boards are profiled so if I place blocks up to them some will not line up by a few mm. Would people trim a few mm off the blocks or just line them up and put more sand behind the ones that don't touch the gravel boards. Thanks.

If you string a line from both ends of the fence the depth of a soldier course plus a few mm for tolerance then check that there is ample clearance between the line and the board. I would avoid any of the blocks touching the boards anyway. If the joint between the block and board becomes excessive in places, fill with a dryish mortar mix.
