I moved in to a house with a block paving drive and weed it regularly throughout the spring, summer and early autumn. Weeds grow every 2 weeks or so and it is a huge commitment keeping the drive weed free. I have learned so much on this site and now feel able to most effectively clean my drive from algae, moss & weeds. However, I need to make it level in places and am not sure what is beyond the sand directly underneath it as I saw a diagram with lots of underneath layers. Also, I'm unsure whether to put 'a mixture; between the blocks when I next clean them in the spring to stop further weeds settling and then perhaps to seal it. If anyone knows a 'Paving Expert Approved Contractor' around Chester, North West England I would be very pleased to contact them for an estimate. Many thanks, Cinders. :)

Hi cinders. Seems like all the pavers busy hence no reply yet. You could be hard pushed to get a contractor to do remedial work on your drive. Have you put a straight edge across the dips to see how bad they are, you can easily do by placing coins under the straight edge ie one coin/ 2 coins beneath etc: should be sub base and sharp sand beneath blocks unless it's permeable then it will be 2 ml grit in the joints. Can you post some photos to give us all a view of the dips?
