We've been asked by a customer to install led recessed lights in the edge course of a new driveway. Has anyone had any experience fitting these & know any particular types best to use or any tips or tricks to the job thanks

Hi John,
My only tip would be to not go near lighting and fob it off to a spark who can spec it and take the phonecalls when they inevitably stop working in a years time.
Garden and driveway lights are a bloody minefield and I refuse to go near them now unless the budget is significant, they can't be done on the cheap.

Chap I did some landscaping work for, retrospectively installed solar driveway lights. Looked fine to me and a much simpler option, just cut out a block after drive is installed.
No cables, wiring etc probably doomed to fail at some point though.

pablo is bang on
we did a heritage job and they specced some high end paving lights (£300 each) 200mm uplighters
lots of really pain in the arse wiring and drainage detail

6 month later 9 out of 10 had failed

AVOID

paver lights

Keep it simple.

Meant to add, let them know the potential probs.
Advise but don't commit.

Must say though that lighting in a garden make a big contribution to the overall look.
