We have had our block paving drive and paths cleaned, sanded, and sealed. Not sure of the sealant used, but we went for the 'Rolls Royce' option, and a sheen finish.

Unfortunately the contractor walked all over the sealant before it was dry (said he had forgotten he was using a sealant he could not walk on until it had dried ??).

He attempted to rectify the problem, but the net effect was worse, with tide marks of sealant mixed with the boot prints. There are also black tyre marks sealed in, from a previous sanding and sealing job that was also a poor job.

The guys were hard working and seem genuine enough, but they are now at a loss to know how to recover the situation. We just want a nice drive and paths: Even though I know it is going to cost more money.

The question is how do we find a real paving expert, who can undo what has been done, clean away the tyre marks and boot prints (and sealant tide marks), re-sand it all and seal it properly? We have failed on both attempts so far to engage somebody who really knows what he is doing, and is prepared to do a thorough job.

Someone from the Sheffield area would be ideal.

Any suggestions? Many thanks.

Really would need to know what sealer they used also can you post a couple of photos of the paving? These things can be got off but a little more info needed. It will be messy and unfortunately costly.

Thanks for the response. I will take the photos and ask the contractor for info about the sealer he used.

Roger who has replied to your post is exactly the type of expert you are looking for.

Whenever any of the paving professionals who use this forum have sealing queries they ask roger for his advice.

You try to help, but if they can't be bothered to do a bit of work so you can give advice…...
