Hi all
I need a bit of advice please regarding driveway edging. The current drive is a mixture of poured concrete slab and 3x2 2" thick concrete pavers. Its the original drive from the 60s which runs down the side of the house, approx. 10ft wide x the length of the house and a bit more.
We are looking at redoing the drive, most likely in block paving. The part I'm really struggling with is the edging against our neighbours drive. The ground levels are considerably different, our driveway is about 2 feet higher than the neighbours drive. Currently there is a fence in place (concrete posts, 2 x 1ft conc gravel boards and a 3ft fence panel) The top of the gravel boards is about 3-6in higher than our driveway.
There is a 2in gap between the fence/gravel boards and our drive, like the drive was shuttered and poured.
If we start to change the drive, I am concerned as to what edging we could use. There is no current load on the fencing form the current drive so I don't think I should be relying on the concrete gravel boards in the fencing to be acting as paving edging/restraints.
I'm not completely set on block paving, patterned concrete or even tarmac could be a possibility, but I think I'm still faced with the same edging problems.
All assistance greatly appreciated.
