Hi,

I've just had a new driveway installed (110m2) 5 weeks ago, using Marshalls Drivesett Argent Block Paving in Graphite colour.

I'm trying to decide how to seal and have looked through the pavingexpert site (which is excellent), but the big question I have is whether to treat the paving as stone/granite or concrete.

The paviours seems to be concrete with granite flecks embedded in the surface, so not sure what to do. Can you assist?

(I'm looking at a damp-look effect across the surface, ideally with an impregnator so it lasts longer. There has been no signs of efflorescence yet.)

Thank you

J

I find with a little maintenance argent keep its looks without a sealant

if you seal once with a wet look sealer it is a bi annual job

if you keep the drive clean and jet wash once a year and resand it looks good

what sealant roger ? resiblock?

Yes one of the Resiblock products, depends on what finish you want though. The Lithofin won't bind/stabilise the sand.

But as you say keep it clean so a bit of maintenance and no need for sealing block paving IMO

Thanks for your advice guys.

I've been reading up on the Resiblock and it seems good, but it's very expensive. I'm generally a believer that you get what you pay for, but is Resiblock really worth as much as it costs?

I've seen some other 'high solid' sealants that are pretty much half the price, so I'd appreciate if you guys think that the extra cost is really justified.

Thanks again

Just had a look at resiblock. Does a 5l tin really only cover 3m2?
I've got a driveway to clean and seal soon. The lady want's a good quality non sheen sealant. I've never sealed a drive before so had no idea how much it would cost.

She's going to get a bit of a shock when I put the quote in by the looks of thing's.
