Hi Guys

I'm a regular site visitor and have read alot of your articles on Block Paving, i used to work for a Private company owner (Just the two of us) doing Block Paving and alot of other jobs. I now work for a construction company and don't do many Block Paving jobs at all.

After recently doing a rare job within a site i am based at, i have had 3 colleagues from the site approach me to give them a price for block paving there driveways.

I have never had to price a job up before. I went to the first one and took all the measurements, what do i do now. Do i phone around Builders Merchants, Skip Companies, whats the best way to get block ordered etc e.g From Jewsons, Marshalls? i'm struggling with the basics of it all

Any help will be appreciated

All the Best

Sammy

Sub it out and take a drink. It sounds like you are out of your depth.

I have mates like you sammy
they can do the job but cant put pen to paper

labour+materials+profit = job cost

its that simple

Haha cheers team, I've jut finished a cracker there which was 120m2 but the guy I did it for bought the lot himself I just supplied labour and did the groundwork etc, folk like me have only worked for companies but never had to price a job so it's a first time, once we learn, Happy Days, how much should I charge for laying 88m2, is there a m2 guideline or something :) :p

if you have the time break the work into phases and apply cost as tony LLL has said.

cost of materials, how long you think the work will take (add a day), cost of a skip, do you have to include drainage, tool hire etc etc and then you have to decide how much your time costs.
