All, been reading the site for a while as I've debated what to do with the driveway. Was a toss up between block paving and resin bonded drive but think I'll go for the blocks, looks nicer and not sure about the resin bonded stuff in wet and ice. Any thoughts?

Also, i've dug out the lawn and come up with a pile of rocks. Question is can they be used as part of the sub base before putting in the MOT 1. Will this cause a problem?

It's easier putting the rocks back in the ground than trying to get rid of them, but if they are going to cause issues with the drive then will have to dispose of them elsewhere.

Get rid unless you want to spend hours smashing them into little tiny little fragments!

I would go with monoblocks. Cheaper than resin bound and generally it looks nicer, it's safe in wet and ice though.

Get rid of the rocks.

unless you can hire a crusher get rid of the stone and do the math between amount of stone you have to the cost of type1 be it quarried or crusher run.

When you say: rocks. Are they of a 'decorative' type? If they are you could flog them, rocks are expensive to buy.

As everything it depends, if you've got a soft spot anywhere you can use the oversize stone to solidify it. On bad ground we'll start with large size 150mm up road base before we lay type 1 as it holds up better than just mot.

If you can get them in they won't protrude above your subbase chuck them in but if they are too big you'll cause yourself more problems
