Hi all, I am looking for a company/individual to lay 72m2 of block paving on my drive, that will be full prepped with sub base and levelled etc. I will provide all blocks and materials.
Any recommendations etc. in the Berkshire area or idea of cost.....before I try it myself !!

I dont know about other blokes but I dont like going over other people's work
have you installed drains and edgings/kerbs
are all the falls installed?
if you have managed to get this far solo laying the blocks should be a doddle

I'm with Luton on this I done all my front as a d.i.y er and laying the blocks is the best part.
It's seeing it going back down and transforming in front of your own eyes, and the satisfaction of doing it yourself.
GLW what ever you decide to do

+1 as diy'er who did the edging sub-base drainage etc. and got someone in to lay the blocks (due to time) i regret every minute of it, if you can get that far you can lay'em.

Luton is right - good contractors are reluctant to lay blocks over someone else's prep as they that, if it goes wrong, it's their work that will be blamed even though it is very, very rarely the blocks that fail; it's nearly always the prep.
However, you might get lucky, especially as we are in the quiet time of year. Have you tried asking at wherever you've been buying materials? Often, the local Builders' Merchant will know who does this sort of work and can be trusted.

Thanks for the reply guys, I have laid the sub base and drainage, but we are still undecided on whether to go for paving or red tarmac so at present there are no edgings down.
With work coming up and staying away its a time issue more than anything, so need a price to screed and lay blocks or tip and roll red tarmac??

You'll find it easier to get a price for the bitmac as those gangs are more used to working on someone else's sub-base, but for blocks it will be a matter of searching locally.
