Driveway

hi all im in the process starting my driveway just waiting for the council to drop the curb such a long process had to wait 18 weeks for the go ahead and now another 6 weeks for the sub contracter to start.

im pretty confident of doing the job myself just from the knowledge this has giving me so thankyou

so to my question my driveway is going to be 6.m wide x 5m long
with a 900 wide beds around 3 sides which are going to be flush with the drive didnt want to block pave the whole area as i think it looks to much when people cover the whole area so back to my question the drive wil have a slite fall to the back and side onto the beds do i need to install a drain to take away surface water many thx

If the soil is free draining then it's probably not needed as long as the soil is lower and slopping away from the drive and not trapping water. Otherwise yes you need one it'll do no harm anyway draining onto lawns and beds always wrecks the them over time.
