hi

i notice on the site http://www.pavingexpert.com/jointing14.htm that it says that marshalls keybond is a "water miscible blend of styrene & butadiene (SBR) for 2-5mm joints".

Marshalls Keybond is about £45-£50 for 5litres but i can get SBR for £15-£20 for 5 litres so if there's no difference i would prefer to use the SBR. Does anyone know if diluted SBR is just the same for stabilising sand between block paving?

any advice appreciated, thanks in advance

SBR will leave a bluey white residue over everything it touches and once dry it cannot be shifted the keybond although chemically similar is very different and leaves no such residue.

That's a shame, i thought it would dry clear but at least i know now. Thanks for the advice.

Are you sure, Pablo? I was told by an ex-employee of that company that there was no real difference between commercially available SBR and Keybond. Whether that is true or not, I can't say, but that's what I was told.
