Hi all
Just like to say this is a fantastic website !!!

I recently recieved a quote of £2175 to supply and fit 80mts of standard brindle majority of digging has been completed
Does this price sound right

I calculated
8 ton of MOT
8 ton of grit sand and the block to cover 80 meters

Cost for foundation would be approx £540

Any help is appreciated

Thanks
Aaron

Get three quotes always. Seeing as the blocks will be about a grand, the sand and stone about 650.. I cant see anyone laying 80mtrs for a few hundred quid. Run a mile

I Got quote from a company based in Bolton...The qiote was £2175 supply and fit 30meters in Brindle..

My calculations are
3 Ton MOT
2 Ton Sand
3 pack of Brindle block
3 covers for Inspection Chambers

Cost for materials would be approx £550.00

Just seems to be quite exspenive for the labour if materials are only £550.00 unless this is a 2-3 week job

The ground is ready for MOT..So no digging required

9T of type one at 150mm - £270
2T of sharp sand - £60

3 packs of blocks - £300 (more if they are marshalls)
3 recessed covers - £150

That's 780, round up to £800 when you include kiln dried sand and cement.

That leaves 1375 for labour.

Sounds about right assuming they do a proper job.

Are these inset covers? If so there is a lot of work in fitting/cutting these in.

Hi Dave
I was under the impression I would need 2 inch mot as this is only a patio area...150 seems a lot for a patio

My mistake. that amount of MOT is for a driveway. for patio I would go 75mm minimum, so 4-5T.

I live and work in the Manchester area, I’ve just worked out what id charge, and the price you have been given is spot on. And its a 2-3 day job, not 2-3 weeks.
