Has anyone mixed the two? Im looking inspiration for my own driveway seeing as work is slow.
Was thinking use setts for a border and maybe some cirle outlines with block paving to fill?
Any thoughts or pics?

I have just installed a Harvest Tegula path with granite sett border as the main path for the display site we're trying to install(dont seem to have much time to get on with it), I'll get some photos tomorrow, It was done to use up left over materials as is the rest of the site including the office but I think it looks pretty good.

I've done it a few times it with both the edge and circle trim and I was very happy with how it turned out. The sett edge where it meets the block sometimes needs a bit of dressing to sit well together is the only tip I can give you. There's a few examples in the Tobermore Brochure and on their website.

although it looks nice now i do remember the gaffer stating that natural and concrete products should never be mixed
my neighbour has clay pavers on his drive but concrete kerbs
10 years on and the pavers are as red as day 1 but the kerbs just look grey now
if i were to use any concrete product i would go for a natural colour I. E.grey to alleviate this

I’ve had my arse slapped off the gaffer for mixing the two! But can only lay what the customer requests as beauties in’th eye of beholder

I'm confused too if it's done well and the materials compliment each other then whats the problem.

Because of the different rates that they age and fade.

I realise that but if the materials are well matched then it's not a problem. Flags and block with exposed granite aggregate in great with granite setts and kerbs and Tegula is also a good match because all weather well and have a rustic contemporary look. Smooth standard blocks are a poor match.

I've seen Tegs that have been down 20years and still look good they mellow nicley so cant see the problem mixing them with natural products. Theres a guy near us just installed a brindle DL50 driveway with Charcoal border and a squared off Desert Sand Indian stone circle in the middle of the drive. It looks tacky to me and Personally I would never use flags on a driveway but he's done a nice job and bet he gets plenty of work from it, lots of folk like that sort of thing. My way of thinking is do what you like the look of, you will probably change things simply because you want a change long before things start to look tatty. I've replaced plenty of perfecly servicable driveways and patios just because people want a change, My patio at home has been down three years and im bored with it and want to relay in spring!
