I've a load of blocks left over from a previous job and want to know if I can use them as engineering bricks? Spec of them is 70N/mm2 and <5% absorption. Only need to lay one course below a timber frame. I'm having trouble finding spec for the blocks. Any ideas anyone?

i would have thought NO
it is a pikey trick using block paving as engineering bricks
they are not really designed for point loads

I don't how good your bricklaying is, but personally I find it very to do good brickwork without a frog in the brick, so i wouldn't use block paving, concrete commons or concrete blocks. plus the side of the block will be visible and this is not a finished (attractive) side.
