Hi, I am new to patio cleaning treatments and wanted to ask for some advice please.

A client's patio has built up quite a lot of moss/usual crap around the joints. I have already cleaned a few sections of it by following the advice here about putting down a patio cleaner chemical (Jeyes) and scrubbing with a stiff brush. It seems to be quite effective but rather time consuming and hard work!!

I have now bought a pressure cleaner (Karcher 5.700) and I am wondering should I manually finish off the patio as explained above, and then pressure clean or is it best to scrap that method and now just use the pressure cleaner (which is very powerful and will probably blow out all the moss/crap saving me a lot of scrubbing)?

yous best bet would be to blast the dirt and moss off it first then use the jeyes. If the pointing is properly done then you'll not damage it. If there are lots of weeds then spray them off a few weeks before you do the cleaning.

is jeyes the best stuff after pressure washing? my slabs have gone green and black, but the pressure washer only gets off a certain amount

it works well on my paving I'm sure there are better products but I'm happy with the results so don't look any further.

Sodium Hypochlorite (dairy wash) buy from farm stores use between 10:1 and 4:1 depending on amount of contanimation, spray on or watering can, agitate with brush, let it dwell 20 minutes, rinse or pressure wash off, will kill grass and plants so be careful where you rinse to, 20 litres about Â£11.

Thanks for your replies. I'll probably do that then, pressure-wash it off first and then put down the Jeyes after and brush it.

I'm using Jeyes at the moment because it's just a chemical and usually harmless, I'm avoiding acids for the time being.

jeyes fluid is far from harmless
it is a well know insecticide and is manufactured from coal tar
you should use full PPE when handling it and keep pets well away from it

FYI Sodium Hypochlorite (NaClO) is not an acid it is an Alkali
