Hi, we are looking to get our unadopted road resurfaced. Its a no through road with only 10 properties either side so no heavy traffic but its on a 9-11 degree slope. Is PIC a good option? what are the pitfalls? or would tarmac be a better solution?
Many thanks

PIC is an awful option, asphalt or commercial spec block is the only way to go.

tarmac best option . quickest way to the job . keeps the 10 householders happy with access whilst doing the job too.

Tarmac is a company that surfaces roads etc and has become a generic term but they can get a bit touchy about their name being used, so Asphalt/bitmac etc better term to use

I would have thought their marketing department would love their name being synonymous with road surfacing.
They use the word asphalt in Australia.

Asphalt from me too I'd stick a fork in my eye before I used PIC. Good luck getting everyone signed up no doubt the first few houses will only want to pay for their small bit because they don't use the rest and everyone will have a fight at some point.

Shared access roads are a nightmare.
I don't think I've been successful in landing even one shared access road surfacing job.

Yes, PIC is definitely a good option. I am very much agree with the suggestions of GB. Tarmac is a company that surfaces roads.
