In my current drive I have 3 small concrete manholes. Removing the lids and measuring the inside dimensions of the brickwork beneath the cover I have:

2off 220mm square
1off 280mm square

Can you get recessed man hole covers that are this small that are still usable? A quick trawl of the web turned up these: http://buildingsuppliesdirect.co.uk/product....395 but I reckons they may look fugly with the big bits of tin in each corner?

Any others out there from merchants or the tinterweb?

If your search turns up nothing there is no reason you can't just use a bigger cover on top of a smaller hole.

because i was specifically after the type that don't have integrated keys, but hence have more metal showing, I found the manufacture then found the supplier, which turned out to be Sydenhams.

Clarkedrain do a neat 300x300 plastic and metal cover with built in hidden handles. For metal ones of that size I use Tobermore's own range.
