Good morning.

My driveway is complete and the dropped kerb was done on Friday. This was done in the morning and we were informed we could use it straight away - but warned that the path would be 'soft' for a while and we shouldn't linger or turn on it.

Over the weekend the drive has been in use and this morning I've noticed there are tyre marks in places.

I'm assuming this is the tarmac coming off the tyres?

Should this be happening?
Should we have been told we could use it straight away?
Finally, how do I get the marks off - or do I leave it and rainwater will wash it off eventually?

Sorry for all the questions - but I'd appreciate some reassurance that I haven't ruined the block paving within a week of having it installed!

Thanks.
Stuart. :)

It most likely is bitumin binder being tracked onto the new drive by tyres, and so it should, over a period of time, be tracked off again. In the meantime, consider sprinkling some KD sand over the new blacktop - it helps prevent it being picked up by the tyres, a bit like dusting a worktop with flour prior to rolling out pastry.
