I thought I'd show a few pics of my block paved driveway i did with the help of this forum/site.

Some of you may remmeber my thread on my garage base a while back that i had poured and the monkeys that did it made a bit of a hash of it, any way i finished building the garage (myself) and then i finally got round to sorting some paving in front of it.

I decided to go with the plaspave sorrento charcoal which i thought complemented the roof and the door quite well.

I bought a cheap block splitter off ebay to finish off the cuts, took my time and thwas really pleased with the results

heres some pics of my progress

Maybe it's the angle of the photo but it looks like your bedding layer is too deep and some of the cuts are too small but it's a good job and you should be pleased with yourself.

Cheers Carberry

I think its probably the angle of the photo as the bedding layer was about 40mm max which is what i went by according to the guide on the site,

Looks good Matt. Why are there cuts at both edges? Are the walls not square too the garage?

LLL> no i did whack the sand down, unfortunately i didn't have enough sand left to do the whole drive in one go and I'd only realised on the Friday and the place where i was getting the sand from couldn't deliver till Monday so rather than not be able to do anything all weekend if it just compacted a thin layer over the whole base i did about 1/3 of it so i could get some blocks down. It was whacked down and then screeded

The sand is how it came, it was quite red, it was loose delivered from a local place just up the road (Hopkinsons) £30/tonne (cash) it was

ken> Yes the drive is slightly tapered but also I just thought I'd alternate where the cut blocks were so that all down one edge didn't have cut ones but I suppose in hindsite it doesn't make a difference i guess
