Hi Guys
I had a contractor lay block paving in November 2009 and waited until June 2010 for sealant to be applied (2coats).
Should the finish last longer than 11months as it now looks in need of another application and has done so for the last 3/4 months?

sadly most sealants do need to be reapplied and the more you drive on it the more it has to be used
unless you want a gloss finish why seal anyway?

The problem with sealants is that there is such a wide range of quality, and then there are some that seem to have 'disappeared' after a few months but are actually a matt or very low sheen product.

Do you know what product was used?

Thanks for the replies, guys.
Unfortunately I do not know what product was used except it came from a 5gallon container and applied by spray. Could you recommend a product for future use?

Many thanks.

You need to know what was used previously as not all sealants are compatible. In particular, PUs and acrylics have a fractious relationship and daubing one over t'other can have disastrous results.

If what you have truly has lost the plot after a single winter, it was probably a cheap'n'nasty acrylic
