Hi Guys,
Hoping someone can help me.
Just had my block paving laid wondering if they need to be sealed straight away - The block paver said he recommends it done straight away which will give me protection of weeds and give a shine to the block. They are 50 mm brett blocks brindle and have read you should wait atleast a year before you seal. Block paver insist it should be done asap.
Is there any views and recommendations if it needs doing now or later and if needs to be done which sealant to use??
Many Thanks
Seal or no seal !!!

I would wait at least a month before sealing any paving so you have chance to traffic the area and see if problems arise, which will take you into december which is far too cold for sealing wait for the spring when its warmer also be careful not to seal in any efflorescence

Thanks for your reply guys.
Just spoke to someone in tech department in Brett Head Office who advised me that i should wait atleast 12-18 months before sealing. It's something about the white stuff that could arise from blocks. something about chemicals used in making the blocks and dampness of the sub base can cause this and once sealed it will be impossible to take off???
Anyone with any views on this matter.
Thanks
