I have just had a new driveway laid covering 70sqm and if the weather holds up tomorrow the kiln dry sand is going to be brushed into all the joints.
What i wanted to know was roughly how many bags of sand do you think i will need to cover this area, at the moment i have bought 3 cement size bags

depending on the type of blocks and the thickness it will take approx 6 - 7 bag, if the blocks are tumbled then it could take a little bit more

its always handy to have half a bag over to top up the joints a few months later

Thanks for your swift replies, the blocks are 60mm thick cobble effect, its funny how you under estimate everything when it comes to jobs on the house, you never allow for the little discrepencies and extra costs that crop up

Just to update the drive easily swallowed 8-9 bags of sand going to go over it again when the path is dry as when doing the final compaction it drew water up through the joints and turned the sand to mush
