I have no connection to the company that sells this but I thought someone might find this useful - if you are like me and you hate oil spots on your nice drive - this really works.
I joined the forum just to post this.
About 3 years ago I bought some OT8

5 litres of it - it's quite expensive, but it's fantastic
a thimble full is enough to clean off a visitors occasional drip on the drive and it leaves no residue or marks
I have about 3 litres left still

I hate to disagree, but i have used this stuff and i found it useless. A client of mine spilt a sizeable amount of oil onto their driveway and i got to it within 12 hours.
I used OT8 and it did very little to the stain. I called the company and confirmed i had used it correctly, so i reverted back to the old method of my usual solvent which removed it in seconds.
I got the sample of OT8 direct as i was looking for an alternative to the solvent method. Looks like the old method is still best.

You got shot down by a professional paving cleaner so infact any publicity you thought you might get has back fired. Sweet justice.

every product has a shelf life and something 3 years old must be past its sell by date too

I used OT8 years ago and I've mentioned it here previously. I found it to be fairly good, and if I were plagued with oil stains again, I would actually use it.
To be fair, I was attempting to clean exceptionally heavy staining, and while it didn't shift everything (I hadn't expected it to) it made a very noticeable improvement and most of the lighter staining was gone completely.

Tony, would the end result be as good as if you wet the block paving then sprinkled Daz washing powder over the oil stain and left for half an hour before washing it way ?

No. Before the OT8, I tried dozens of other products and techniques, including washing powder, Oxi-Action, baking soda, some jollop from Bettaware, kitchen grease clener and so many more. Some of them helped a bit, but nothing was as good as the OT8.
I know I have posted these photies before, but to save everyone from looking up the old thread, here we go again....

yeah fair comment but personally I would of changed the driveway blocks if there was that much oil of an oil spill
and changed the vehicle what caused the mess in the first place

We use OT8, on some staining it is great IE new oil stains, on older stains not so good, but on the older stains using it as a second application after a solvent then the results are good.
To the opening poster, after 3 years in an open container the product might be passed it's use.

Mick,
The driveway *has* been changed, but having all that oil stain was too good an opportunity to miss for experimenting, so just before the blocks were taken up and replaced, I played around with just about everything I could think of in terms of oil removal.

"deepwater horizon" springs to mind
have to say that when significant oil/diesel gets on to blocks its less aggro just replacing the blocks
we did a 400m2 drive on a new build years ago and the day the gates got fitted the electricians diesel line snagged the gate stop
we tried all sorts but ended up having to replace 40M of blocks

You have to bear in mind that this was 4 years ago, and there was so much oil on the drive I was worried George W might invade!
But you're right: replacement is often much easier than cleaning, which is just another advantage of a modular paving system.

I am offended by your offensive comment - it was not an advertisment it was a genuine attempt to help other people - you should not be so quick to judge incorrectly

Thanks - but I used it at the weekend on some drips from my BIL car and it still works fine
It has lasted much longer than I thought it would
