Is there any experience of this ? Some engine oil has been used on a new course of blues which were thought to need a clean, but the result isn't pretty. They've gone jet black and initial attempts at cleaning the oil off with detergent and even Swarfega have failed. How can we get the blue back ?

wd40 is the preferred method for cleaning blue staffs
it costs £2 a tin
why someone would use engine oil is beyond me
