Hi all,
I have used SmartSeal block paving sealer and it was ok...
I wondered if their products are rebranded? I think they are quite expensive and wondered if there was a cheaper alternative.
Thanks in advance

As far as I know, SmartSeal buy-in the resin and solvent to their own recipe. I daresay that other suppliers could buy the same resin and solvent mix from the main manufacturer but as they all keep the precise formulation of their sealants fairly close to their chests, I can't be certain.
You have to bear in mind that with sealants you should be buying more than just the jollop itself. You would want there to be some sort of credible technical back-up just in case you need advice or, god forbid, summat goes wrong. Several of the more expensive sealants cost more because you are paying for that technical back-up.
If you take a company like Resiblock which has permanent staff travelling around the country offering advice, resolving issues and contributing academic papers to the body of knowledge we have on sealants, then obviously their products are going to cost a few quid more than some one-man-band working out of a shed and buying in the stuff from one of the bigger chemical companies in Trafford Park.
