Hi

I have an area about 175m2 on which I would like to use clay pavers as my home is a 1926 old workman's cottage and it seems to me that clay pavers are probably the most sympathetic material to use but happy to hear if anyone has any better ideas. Cost is a big factor and I was thinking of using seconds or secondhand pavers to reduce cost - does any one have any idea who I can contact on this or generally could point me in the right direction.

contact all of the big manufactures. kno for a fact that marshalls sell seconds to thier staff cheap.

Thanks - I will ring round tomorrow. Meanwhile any thoughts on buying 20 year old pavers - there are some potentially on offer albeit it may be uneconomical to transport them

dont consider using clay paving if they are seconds, as you will have little or no comebacks with the manufacturers,
with clay being a natural product, it is fired in a kiln and some of the blocks are likely to be banana shaped and be almost impossible to do a decent job with,

i think the OP is looking for something a little rustic hawk so the odd bend or wave would not be out of place

if money is a bit tight why not have a black/gravel combo
with blocks to the perimeter and gravel for the main body

My vote goes with your original idea - I love clay pavers anyway - why not post a photie? - we have brilliant reclaim yard near here.

york hand made brick do a pavour top class the reclaimed blues diamond also very good if you can buy them right they will do a lovely job cheers cookie :;): :;):
