I'm laying Tobermore 50mm Tegula setts in smallish irregular area for a path. The area is approx 1.2m wide by 10m long and is bounded by walls on 3 sides. The path isn't straight, it snakes a bit.

I tried using a wacker to do the final compaction but found it was near impossible to turn around at cul de sac end and to follow the curve. I then tried doing it by hand with a small rubber mallet; that was reasonably successful, I've got about 3m done but I got repetitive strain injury so that has to be abandoned.

Any ideas?

Try using the whacker backwards so you pull it around the edge on a lower rev. If not you could get a rammer and use that

Are they easy to buy? I'm living in no-man's-land between Longford and Cavan but I can travel.
