Hi,

I am hoping someone here can help me as I have no building skills but am keen to do some work on my garden without hiring a pro (yes, im a cheap skate)

I already have a garden patio with the old looking slabs loose in places.

Is it possible to remove the old slabs and lay new ones on top without having to smash out the compacted stuff underneath?

Can I just remove the old ones, lay some dry sand down and put the new slabs on?

Any help is much appreciated

Hi Tim..... What are the slabs you intend to lay. As you would probably guess we will tell you thats not really the way to go. What is underneath the old slabs at present. Be good if you can get a photo up for us to see.. :;):
