Dear forum,

I would like to have block paving very near to a pond but believe that I am restricted in terms of preparing a proper foundation. I don't think that I can use a compactor that near to the pond, it probably would kill off the fish due to the noise and vibrations.

Any advice would be welcomed.

Possibly I am being too soft, perhaps the fish has more stamina than I think.

Best regards

I have never heard of fish dying through vibration.
I wouldn't worry about it,, and just carry on as normal!

Only danger is if you fall in the pond with the compaction plate running, The fish would not be happy in this case....

Gentlemen,

Thank you for your words of wisdom. I am beginning to realise that my approach to this have been a bit too considerate. Influenced too much by another family member!

Best regards

I heard that a pet shop owner was fined £1,000 for selling a fish to an under age customer, or was it an under age fish to an elderly customer.
