I am having the front yard done.

We have no idea whether what we choose will look nasty cos
we have no taste and always get it wrong.

My house is a 1920's/30's house in London.

White painted over rought cast.

Botton 18" of front wall of house is black painted render.

The wall round the front garden is reclaimed brick whose colour is something like this (yellow/red buff) .. http://www.egernsund-tegl.com/lib....t=blank

My wife is keen on a charcoal coloured block (possible some kind of traditional looking block) however I don't see how that would work well with the front wall.
And anyway our house isn't victorian.

On the other hand I don't want anything too modern.

My main concern is finding a colour and texture that will fit with the existing wall and the house.

Any thoughts?

Help appreciated.
