Hi all,

We're thinking of getting someone in to dig up our existing asphalt single car width driveway, dropping the curb a couple more lengths and putting down a double width driveway which will reach the wall on the photo below:

We really like the look of Marshalls Drivesett Argent in Graphite as we like the tumbled look and the colour is different from the usual reds or brindle colours. What are peoples thoughts on the argent tumbled block suiting the style of our house? Are there other more suitable alternatives?

Also, what sort of ball park price are we looking at? The finished drive will be about 42m2. There's a guy on the marshalls approved installers list that lives about a mile away. Will he charge premium for being a Marshalls approved installer?

Thanks fellers!

hi

argent is a premium block and commands a premium price but laying it will be no more expensive than std paving ( driveline 50 )

42m2 should come in around £3500-4000 depending on your location, from the photo it looks a straight forward job bread and butter for any capable contractor. Go for the graphite we find that the surface of argent is quite abrasive and the lighter colours tend to gather tyre marks

Argent is quite a modern looking block and I'm not sure it would suit your house style. See if you can find a site where you can generate a 3d image with the blocks superimposed onto it. Other possibilities are using a contrasting block that matches the house to trim it with.

You've got great taste (ahem), you've taken the photo, so you're half way there - why not use the application to see how it looks:
