Hello all.
I'm going to be building a large shed this year for my gym and would like to get an idea of the cost of having a 100mm thick 10sqm concrete slab layed. It won't be reinforced and I plan to do the excavation and sub base myself. Does anyone have any idea how much it would cost to have 1m3 of concrete Placed? The finish will be tamped and then trowelled round the edges.
Cheers

I have rung a few concrete suppliers in my area with the view to laying it myself and so far I have got prices around £180 per metre cubed for the site mixed companies. A qoute for readymix at £68 plus £50 x 5 for part load! I may just mix it myself.

Better off having that quantity delivered / mixed on site.
You would need:
320kg of cement
630kg of sand
1170kg of gravel
so bulk bag of gravel, sharp sand and 13 bags of cement delivered, you will end up paying ~£110. Then you have to hire a mixer, that's probably another £30 then you have to run around like a blue arse fly trying to mix it all, get in the hole.
You also have to get rid of, or store the excess materials.

Get a decent Volumetric company in for 1m3 of c35 we would be £120 with a £50 delivery if it within 5 mile radius of our yard. You will have less mess no waste and save time and it should be a quality mix, where hand mixing can be hit and miss, What part of the UK are you?
