A few of quick questions guys please.

I am about to lay grit sand on compacted MOT1 for a drive with vehicle access. How thick should this layer be initially when spread loose prior to laying blocks. What should the final depth be when blocks are bedded in? How much is this sand layer likely to compact to from loose to finished depth. Will it start at say 75mm and bed down to say 50mm or more?
I am after an idea of what thickness to start the loose sand from so that when bedded in with the blocks it finishes at the right depth/levels that I have set out. I want to make sure I have enough sand on the bed so it will compact down enough when finished.

Thanks

if your blocks are 50 mm ,use a line and lay the sand 35 mm below the line, wack it then screed it off to 45 mm below the line, when the blocks are laid then the fianl wack should take up +- the last 5mm
optimum finished depth of sand is i believe 35mm now
