Hello,

I am hoping that someone can help with a problem we have encountered during our patio project. We have followed paving expert’s advice on building a vertical sleeper retaining wall.
Our problem is the steps, we were hoping to use vertical sleepers for risers and Drivesett Tegula blocks for the treads. I would welcome any help as to the best method for attaching the blocks to the sleepers.
We have seen other forum posts where the blocks have been placed behind the sleeper; we were hoping to place ours directly on top of the sleeper.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you
pdeepie

It isn't a good idea to do this as the wood will expand and contract with the seasons and therefore it's no use as a base for paving; whatever you lay the pavers on will crack.

I agree with Rich on this. :)
