A friend has asked me to lay a new path. They live in an old cottage and already have bricks laid down as a path. They would like this repeated elsewhere. I have never done this before and would welcome advice on it. I will lay a concrete base. The path is about 20 foot long with a 9" drop. I will establish a run to allow for a natural ramp. Once I have established the run, do I merely lay the bricks on a mix of cement and building sand. Is there any further advice that could be offered. Is this dealt with on this site, or, could anyone direct me to a site that explains how to do this?

Thanks guys. Links don'twork, but, I have found the section on block paving.
As these are going to be placed on a rigid bed, do I need to bed the edges into concrete? If so, do I do this at the start?
Cheers.
