Seems that the weapon of choice for cleaning drives is the pressure washer. Started doing mine yesterday when i spotted oil residue in the water, thinking my blocks had some oil staining i tried then to remove it with jet only to find that my problem was getting worse. Then the machine packed in, only when i turned it over did I find where my oil was coming from. The machine which was a karcher K2.91, was leaking oil out of the bottom of the case, it was just over 12 months old. So beware when using these, you may end up with a drive worse than when you started.

it's a common problem with karcher.
Ironic that the best selling pressure washer is the worst one!

sand blown out of the joints i can deal with ,i just see that as part of the job , adding oil staining to the drive i can do without. Something good came from it anyway, bought a petrol pressure washer as a replacement, what a tool!

In the market for new electric p/w - now on third lance with our RAC model - they split on the seam.
Any recommendations on a make/model from the gang?

Stihl - look no further.
I have the 142Plus, you can just see it to the left on the picture. It's a semi-professional washer, built to last and is very sturdy. Has a 12m hose on a winding reel.
I had the 128Plus before but it didn't come with a built-in detergent tank, so I sold it pretty quickly. Here's a pic of it before I sold it.
What's your budget?
