Busy with the paving and have been following the guides so far so good. That was unil a good neighbour who has done a few paving jobs over the years said mixing cement into the bedding layer is the usual way to do it.
Is he right or is it uneccesary as its flexible block paving?
also..
Now my drive is quite large (80msq)and a funny shape. I am taking two days off when all the kids are at school to finish it. But I doubt Ill get it all done in one day. Is it possible to screed as required and lay the blocks down uncompacted in 2 parts, finishing the rest the next day then wacking and jointing the lot?

Thanks

This page will help..... Flexible Block Paving especially the links to the screeding pages.

Yes, it is quite possible to to the job over 2 days, leaving off at a convenient point. Beware of cat-do-dah in the screed the next morning though, can often be an unpleasnat suprise when you kneel down the next morning........

Thanks Dave- I did look at the guides and understood cement isnt used.I think with the neighbour throwing me a curveball I would just ask the pros.

Im glad It can be left uncompacted, altho my main concern will be my kids and their friends.

This neighbour of yours: he's a pillock. Go and pelt him with cat shit.

Mixing cement into the laying course material of flexible block paving is a sure sign of a cowboy.
