Hi

Having been bouyed by the amount of info on this great site, I am in the process of creating an area of block paved driveway adjacent to my existing driveway. The new addition is approx 1.5m x 6m.

Unfortunately I was in the process of laying the concrete edging last weekend along the 6m length, when I had to stop.

The edge in question is a free-edge, and I'm concreting up from sub-grade (not sub-base), as this suits my project management and in theory should be stronger...?

As the concrete is relatively fresh, can I simply resume where I left off? Or should I prepare the face of my recently laid concrete with something so that it bonds with the new concrete?

Just trying to ensure that the strength of my edging is not compromised (any more than it is already!).

Many thanks

Just carry on where you left off. Although there will be a day joint, it should not compromise the structural integrity of the edge course to any worrying extent.
