Got puncture today after hitting pothole in road.

I understand concept of frost expanding in roads and causing potholes but wondered why it seems to be a problem on recently laid roads, I'd of thought new roads last longer than they do.

Local council penny pinching?

Then once pothole has been reported why do repairs last only a few months at best?

Where are the councils going wrong and how should repairs be done right?

Hi James. It's not just frost but can be other factors like leaking fuel, impact etc: Because of the cost of repairs, which can be expensive, they seem to just do a quick bodge to fill a hole. to do it proper it would take more time cutting out a larger piece, maybe road closures etc: It all comes down to cost at the end of the day, maybe the local councils don't get enough of a budget from the government. I see where you live it will only get worse if/when you get your independence :;):
