as you may or may not know we are building a large double garage

9m by 5.7m

now the architect has shown a slab 100mm thick on 100mm of hardcore

I know this is tosh

I was thinking 100mm type 1,dpm 150mm c30 concrete with A142 mesh @75mm powerfloated
then a crack control joint cut at 4.5m i.e. the centre

dont really want to do 2 bays as will involve 2 pump hires @ £400 a pop

any thoughts from the concrete men??

thanks LLL :)

Sounds like a plan but don't forget the fibre board edges :;):

You can one slab that if you use a fibre reinforced concrete!

Don't you find the fibres come to the top when you powerfloat it though??

There's a garage floor spec on the main page it's a lot heavier duty than that I've used it on a big 8x6m garage and won't be going anywhere.

I'll go find it...
