I am trying to find details of a contractor who will clean a Formpave Aquaflow System on a commercial site in Somerset.
The area is around 12,500 sq ft and Formpave recommend that it is "hoovered". The system they suggest is really expensive and I'm wondering if it can be dealt with by using a simple road sweeping type method????
I'd be grateful for any experiences of cleaning this type of paving.

Never heard of "Formpave" ? do you have a web-link for the company so I can see what the surface is.
I have contacts around the UK so might be able to help you.

Given the costs and complexities of the installation, I would only endorse the manufacturers reccomendations.

Done some research on this and have spoken to Formpave, the surface can be pressure washed but you have to use "Gritstone" not regular kiln-dried to re-sand as to speak. With the Aqua-flow system, I would suggest a water only pressure wash, hot water would be better as any chemical used could and most proberbly would damage the water filtration system. I can check to see what companies are in your area if you could send me some more details etc.

How old is the site, Joanne? Aquaflow normally manages at least 5 years before it needs cleaning for anything other than aesthetic reasons.
Then you have to consider the purpose of the paving. If it's a simple permeable pavement, then cleaning with water and re-jointing using the correct grade of grit would be OK, but if you have a harvesting or bio-remediation system, then this will have to be taken into account otherwise you risk buggering-up (technical term) the whole lot.

In answer, the site is in Taunton and the formpave was laid just over 4 years ago so its about ready for a clean really.
