Can anyone give me an idea of what is being charged to seal a drive of 190sq metres
It seems that Resiblock22 is £202 for a 25lt drum from the only website thats come up on a search and it seems from Resiblocks site it needs a coverage of 1 litre to 2sqmetres so i calculate 4 drums of 25 litres are needed plus of course labour
I presume Resiblock stinks like hell and since i am chemically allergic dare not do the job myself
Basically i do not trust the co doing the paving and they keep talking about PIC SEAL but no info comes up on the web about this stuff which i assume from other messages is merely acrylic and not long lasting

I would assume it would be a days labour plus material costs. Would take 2 fellas half a day or one a whole day. Not sure what the going rate where you are is. Be very careful if you are thinking of doing this anytime before May as sealers need a bonedry surface warm temperatures and 24hrs of good weather after application. Anything less and it can spell trouble.

PIC seal is the generic term used for "Pattern Imprinted concrete sealer", basically an Acrylic, but quality can vary.
I buy from Creative impressions and they only recommend "Superseal Supergloss Plus" for use on Block Paving as it has additives to make it suitable (apparently) !
Coverage 100 Sq/m - per 25 Ltr drum but you will also need some Xylene to thin it down as you are best applying it with a pump spayer because using a roller tends to pick up the jointing sand and spread it over the top of the blocks (looks messy when dry), also if you use a cheap pump spayer it'll be knackered by the time your finished
I charge £2.50 per Sq/m but this price doesn't include cleaning the driveway !

P.S. There's a guy on Ebay in stafford selling Polyurethane for under £100 a drum but I don't know if it is any good ?

Helpmeplease,
Reading is an area that we cover, but as people have stated you would be looking at May onwards for the sealing to be done, as surface needs to be bone dry and no rain forecast etc. Pic seal do a block paving sealer it is acrylic I don't know how good it is, it does work out at about half the price of Resiblock. If you wanted I could look at the paving once it is finished, and give you a price for a light clean & seal. Our web-site link is below, and some examples of our sealing on there.

Roger - if you have the time let me know when you come over. I'm based near Reading and it would be good to know more about your services. Clients ask about cleaning/sealing etc from time to time but we don't do it ourselves.
helpmeplease - is the paving done? If you need help with any finishing I'd be happy to have a look. We're in Peppard, and I live in Henley.

Yes paving is done and I dont think I need any finishing help but thanks for offering
Having received Resiblock 22 instructions and info from them this AM
I am a little confused by the statements on here that it needs to wait till May to be done
Their info says as soon as paving is finished and only not to do it when theres a chance of rain in next 8 hours
