I have a irregular stone wall boundary and fitting the Edge course to the proflle needs a lots of skill and time. I am wondering if it is all right just cut a strightline on the paving blocks and after putting down a stright line of edge course, just to haunch them up with some cement between the gaps of Stone wall and edge course?

You can put the edging course wherever you want, then the irregular shaped area can be filled with gravel or bark etc over a weed membrane, which will leave it looking better than a lot of unsightly cuts.

You can fit the edge course last, but it still needs top be laid on a concrete bed. Relying on a fillet of mortar between the back and the wall is bad practice and likely to fail in the medium-long term.

as usual the gaffer is right
nearly every bit of B P i see that has failed has the old haunch it with a trowel of soft sand cement rountine
but it will look odd if you run a jagged cut down to suit the wall,maybe leave a small bed say 225mm for a climber and then start your edge course??
