Hi all

I have got my own drive to block pave and was wondering if it is possible to buy the Dtp1 and Grit sand direct from a quarry, and if so what is the approx cost per tonne ?

My drive is 100 sq/m and I intend using Marshalls 80mm DriveLine blocks (already purchase at bargain price) over 7" of Dtp1 and 2" of grit sand.
Using the calculator it works out approx 35t of Dtp1 and 9t of grit sand.

I am in the Stockport area, so not to far from the Buxton quarries does anyone have any contacts or am I going to have to buy from the builders merchants ?

Thanks Darren

I got mine from http://www.onlineturf.co.uk/productlist/669 which is a step in the right direction price wise. No doubt somebody can improve on their price.

£300 for twenty tonnes of crusher run delivered sounds good to me !

A guy I know who has a fencing company buys his grit sand (or limestone siftings as he calls it) direct from a quarry for £20 per tonne delivered, but you have to take a full twenty tonne, I wonder if he would deliver 9 for me ?

Thanks guys it looks like I might be able to save a fortune after all !

The link states number of quantities of 20 tonnes...so you enter "1" for a delivery of 20 tonnes, "2" for 40 tonnes etc!

.....which works out at £395.83 inc VAT and delivery - which isn't too bad.

As account holders, we'd be paying far less than that.....
