Evening,
I'm looking at trying to lay a small path (1m x 8m) that leads to a gravelled area (6m x 7m), and could really do with a bit of non-jargony help.
I'm dead happy to give the work a go, but please can I get advise on laying a sub-base and the setts for the path.
The path and gravel areas are in the middle of the garden and it's simply earth at the moment. I'm not intending to push anything heavier down them than the lawn mower and stick a table and chairs on there.
What and how do I create a base for each?
Presume once I get the base down, I can simply pour the gravel in onto the area.
And am I right in thinking if I put setts down, I need a concrete/sand base? Seen it in tv where they rubber mallet then down then sprinkle water over the top to set it?
Apologies if that last bit's rubbish.
As you can tell, all help really appreciated.
Thanks
