Good Afternoon,

I have 2 men currently applying Resiblock Superior to about 250m2 of Plasmor Block Paving at Home.

The paving has been down around 12 months and they have jetwashed it all clean then applied the Kiln Dried Sand to the joints.

They have left the sand below chamfer but when using the resi roller it is picking up the sand. They have used a spray to apply the Resiblock which achieves a good finish but it has now clogged up 2 sprayers.

Has anyone had similar problems if so how was it resolved? Resiblock were about as helpful as a London Traffic Warden!

Resiblock unhelpful? Well, there's a thing! :;):

They used to bend over backwards to offer tech support, but over the last few years, I've heard nothing but complaints about their perceived unwillingness to spend time helping householders whoi have forked out a small fortune on their product.

I know it's difficult for the companies offering the "clean'n'seal" service, but in an ideal world, the drive would be washed and re-sanded at least a fortnight before sealaing, in order to give the blocks a chance to dry properly, and to allow the fresh jointing sand time to settle and interlock.

However, in reality, it all happens on the same day, or over a couple of days, and that's why we see the problem with sand being picked up when the sealant is applied by roller. The best counter to this is to use a squeegee: you still get some sand pick-up, but not as much.

As for the sprayer, I'm surprised it's clogging. Are they cleaning the head with a xylene-impregnated wipe every few minutes? This helps keep the head and the nozzles clear of partially-cured sealant and so maintains an even and unimpeded flow.
