Anyone out there can help?
I recently had my drive paved with Chelsea Sets, very nice job. I was recommended a company to seal it which they did with Universal Sealants Blockseal Standard.

The sealant seems OK but it was applied badly. There are a couple of areas where there is white colouring and the sand is still loose. The spec on the sealant says there should be a solid layer of resin! Don't know what the white discolouration is, maybe areas of thicker resin.

I went back to the company but guess what... they have one into liquidation.

Should I re-seal it? If so do I have to use the same stuff? The drive is about 50msq. How much should I be paying for the sealant?

Hope someone can make a suggestion.

Thanks for that.

To my untrained eye the white stuff doesn't look like efferfescence. It is in two patches 1/2 metre square and looks more like a thick patch of sealant, or maybe they were patches that were wet when the sealant was put down.

I don't really want to pay to have the job done again. If I put on a second coat myself, does it need to be the same stuff? Surely it can't be rocket science.

Any idea how much it should cost for the materials?

By the way, am I right in that there should be a solid skin on the surface of the sand?

Thanks in advance.
